Freida Pinto Smoulders On The Cover Vogue

FREIDA PINTO'S rags-to-riches fairy tale continues - she's now gracing the cover of Vogue.

The Slumdog Millionaire actress is being hailed as a fashion icon as well as Hollywood's hottest new property.

Freida looks every inch the A-list star decked out in diamonte confection and lashings of blood-red lipstick as she lounges seductively on a couch.

Having impressed the world with her sense of style, the modest star told the Indian edition of the mag: “You’ve got to go with instinct; the right dress will make your heart skip a beat.

"You’ve got to fall in love with what you’re wearing to really pull it off.”

The talented 24-year-old has also been cast in WOODY ALLEN's new film alongside ANTHONY HOPKINS and NAOMI WATTS.

It will be only her second film to date.

Rumours are rife that Freida is Woody's latest muse, following in the footsteps of PENELOPE CRUZ who won an Oscar on Sunday for Best Supporting Actress in his film Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

Not bad for a girl who started her career advertising Wrigley's Chewing Gum.

Im proud of them , it's worth watching actually. I know many indians from india did not like the movie but it's ALL ABOUT THE TRUTH. They show how poor kids are living and how they find their own way to make money. You can't blame that and the love part between latika and jamal was seriously GOOD !!!

I watched the movie twice and i personally gonna add it to my dvd collection. Well Done to The slumpDOG TEAM !!!

Me , Myself In India During Neha's Sister Wedding.

I attended Neha's sister Wedding , which was held at India , Punjab (Chandigarh). The 1st well-plan area in India actually (If Im Not Wrong). I kind of feel home when i was at Chandigarh. A lot of my friends asked me about the place I went. It's worth the money to go there and have a holiday , I travelled around with the bus or with the permission of Neha's dad or mom to use their car to go SHOPPING. Just kidding....

I had a lot of fun in Chandigarh with the people there. People who have bad thoughts of India should actually visit them 1st. When I went to the Golden Temple again , it was like "IM PROUD TO BE A SIKH" and "THIS IS BEST PLACE TO BE AT". Trust me , if any of you guys visit India , Do go to the Golden Temple of Amirtsar. It's worth the money to be there.

The next Gurduwara Im planning to go is Himkun Sahib, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Gurduwara is located. My mom , sister , brother and aunty visited that place before in 2005. If everything works fine for me , maybe this year or next year I'm planning to go there. I heard a lot of stories from the priest and mom that it's really really worth the money.

If God allows me to go , I'll back my bag right away and start traveling again. Meantime enjoy the picture with Aunty Daisy ( don't ask me why Daisy) perhaps Daisy is Sun . So she shines everyday....hahahahahah.....

Angry group protests at Hee’s centre

News of Jelapang assemblyman Hee Yit Foong quitting the DAP to become an Independent has turned her into a target of harassment by Pakatan Rakyat supporters.

Around noon, a handful of DAP members and supporters turned up at Hee’s service centre along Jalan Simpang to put up a banner that reads: “Betrayer of Jelapang voters, Betrayer of Perak people” in several languages. The group left at about 12.30pm.

Meanwhile, there were rumours at about 4pm that Hee’s house had been broken into and that red paint had been splashed across her walls.

A check on the residence, however, showed that the double-storey terrace house was intact with the doors and windows closed.

Hee’s official car, a Proton Perdana V6, was parked inside the locked compound.

Repeated attempts to contact Hee on her mobile phone and her house proved futile.

Zambry to be sworn in as new Perak MB

Pangkor assemblyman Datuk Dr Zambry Abd Kadir will be the new Perak Mentri Besar, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said.

Abdullah, who is Barisan Nasional chairman, announced this after returning from his official visit to Istana Kinta in Ipoh yesterday evening, where he had an audience with the Sultan of Perak Sultan Azlan Shah.

“Sultan Azlan Shah has consented to Zambry being appointed the Mentri Besar. He will be sworn in at 3.30pm tomorrow (today) at the Istana Iskan­dariah in Kuala Kangsar,” he said.

Abdullah added that the new state executive council would be sworn in at 10am the day after.

Zambry, meanwhile, thanked the Sultan, the Prime Minister and his deputy for trusting him to carry out the responsibility.

Perak CPO Deputy Comm Datuk Zulkifli Abdullah said police have secured the state secretariat building following a request by the state secretary to ensure the smooth transfer of power.
