Selangor MB: State firm owns stake in Grand Saga.

Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim revealed today that a state-owned company holds a sizeable stake in toll concessionaire Grand Saga, which is embroiled in a dispute with Bandar Mahkota Cheras (BMC) residents.

"We are holding an executive council meeting this evening and we will come up with out position. I have to listen to all the facts and study the reason why the situation has to come to this stage, "he told reporters at Parliament lobby.

Khalid did not name the state-owned company.

It is learnt that state investment arm Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor indirectly owns a substantial portion of Grand Saga.

He noted that the concessionaire wants to ensure that traffic will flow into the toll road, to enhance revenue.

"I have spoken to the works minister and we are in discussion to find ways to resolve the issue, "said khalid.

Later at the press conference held in Shah Alam after the Selangor state exco meeting, Khalid said that the government, in its capacity as a shareholder in Grand Saga, would be calling for an emergency general meeting (EGM) of the company to seek explanation on the company's stern stand on the barricade matter.

He said the state also wanted an explanation on the alleged use of THUGS by Grand Saga against the residents.

He added that the state government would be writing to the Malaysia Highway Authorities (LLM) to inquire if they had given permission to Grand Saga to erect the new barricade.

"If LLM confrims that they indeed given such an approval, we will ask for the barricade to be removed, "he said.

BMC fracas: Police beat up youth without mercy.

By his account, he was only a curiosity-seeker who wanted to know what was going on at the site of a disputed barricade near Bandar Mahkota (Cheras) BMC last night.

In no time at all, however, Chang Jiun Haur was soaked in his own blood after being repeatedly beaten by 20 riot squad (FRU) personnel armed with batons and kicked with boots.

Chang 21, his sister and friends were driving away from the site of the barricade about 11:30pm, when their car was surrounded by police personnel who had earlier dealt with a fracas involving BMC residents.

A high ranking police officer at the scene claimed that Chang had run over a FRU personnel with his car.

"He asked for it. He ran over a policeman and he got what he deserved, "he told malaysiakini a few minutes after the incident.

Asked to identify the person who was hit by the car, the officer had initial difficulty in persuading the individual to come forward.

When he did so, the man-who appeared unscathed-claimed "He tried to run over me...look at my baton, it is broken. What more evidence do you want?"

However, a police officer who took Chang to the Kajang Hospital said none of the personnel had been hit by the injured man's car.

Chang, when met at the hospital at 12:30am,have also denied this as well "We had just come back (to Kuala Lumpur) from Port Dickson and wanted to see what was going on."

He was lying on a bed, with bloodied mouth. His shirt had been torn off by the police, and his shorts were drenched in blood. He was crying from the shock and trauma, and was unable to say more.

It is learnt that Chang was placed in intensive care unit. The other occupants of his car were arrested last night, but were released today according to BMC Open Road Committee chairperson Tan
Boon Hwa who been keeping tabs on last night's dramatic events.

DAP Selangor executive councillor Ronnie Liu, who visited Chang later last night, said the police had over-reacted and the excessive use of the force could not be justified.

"The police should maintain law and order and not assault people. I am disapointed. My party will provide Chang and the others with lawyers,"said Liu.

According to Liu, the beating was so severe that Chang lost one or two of his teeth.

MALAYSIA BOLEH !!! YEAH THAT'S THE WAY FOR OUR MALAYSIAN POLICE FORCE,KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK...WHAT IF THAT WAS YOUR SON BEEN BEATEN LIKE A DOG ?? WONDER THAT !! I BELIEVE IN KARMA...."WHAT GOES AROUND,COMES AROUND"

Nazri Blames EC Chief , EC Chief Blames Cabinet.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Mohd Nazri Abdul Aziz faulted the Election Commission for the debacle over the indelible ink as the commission had not consulted the attorney-general for his advice.

In his winding up speech, Nazri told parliament that the cabinet had told EC chairperson Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman two week before the Feb 13 dissolution of parliament that it rejected the commission's proposal to mark voter's thumbnail with indelible ink.

Despite receiving the cabinet's advice that "kekecohan" (havoc) could arise and the general election it's "jeopardised" if some voters insisted on voting despite declaring in writing their unwillingness to have their thumbnail marked with indelible ink, the EC went on with its plan for its usage, said Nazri.

"WE RAISED THIS ISSUE AND INFORMED EC, AND IT WAS FOR THE EC TO DECIDE WHETHER TO CARRY ON OR NOT. THEY MADE THE DECISION AND PERHAPS THEY MADE THE DECISION WITHOUT REFERRING TO THE ATTORNEY GENERAL", he said in answer to a question from Tian Chua(PKR-Batu)
"IT'S CLEAR THAT THE DECISION WAS TAKEN WITHOUT ADVICE OF THE AG, AND THIS WOULD HAVE JEOPARDISED THE GENERAL ELECTIONS IF ANYTHING HAPPENED," HE ADDED.

"I WOULD NOT LIE"

Nazri also insisted that there were no order for the EC to cancel it's plan for the indelible ink.

"We did not issue an order, I can assure you, we did not order it. I would not lie,"he said (AH AHA AH C
ORRECT CORRECT CORRECT)

Soon after, Fong Po Kuan (DAP-Batu Gajah) insisted on knowing as to who was lying as the EC chief had previously said the usage of indelible ink had been "REJECTED" by the cabinet.

"THERE MUST BE SOMEONE TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS AND NOT TO SPIN THE FACTS. TELL THE TRUTH !!! WHO IS THE ONE TRYING TO LIE HERE ? " FONG DEMANDED.

She also noted that if the EC had taken the trouble to refer to the National Fatwa Council for it's position on the use of Indelible Ink on Muslim Voter, the EC surely have referred to the AG if it thought it was necessary.

"WHO IS THE ONE THAT DID NOT DO THEIR WORK?" she thundered.

Nazri quipped back: "It's the EC that did not do its work, lah"

Nazri also told Fong that there is difference between the cabinet rejecting a proposal and an order for a proposal to be scrapped. (SO THE PEOPLE IN THE ELECTION COMMISSION DON'T KNOW WHAT THEIR ARE DOING ?? PASSING THE BILL TO 66 YEARS OLD AND NOW YOU SAYING THIS ?? RELEVANT MR.NAZRI ??

"IF WE (THE CABINET) DO NOT AGREE (WITH A PROPOSAL), THAT MEANS WE REJECT IT. BUT WHETHER THE EC WANTS TO TAKE (OUR) ADVICE IS UP TO THEM. IF WE HAD ORDERED THEM (TO SCRAP INDELIBLE INK) EARLY ON, THE EC WOULD HAVE ANNOUNCED IT WOULD NOT USE THE INDELIBLE INK, "SAID NAZRI.

"WE SURRENDERED (THE DECISION) TO THEM," HE ADDED.

Nazri also said that the eventual scrapping of the indelible ink FOUR DAYS( IN CHINESE MEANS MATI) before the general elections was among the reasons Barisan Nasional lost many votes due to the perception that it was seeking to win through illegal means.

Other than the security issue of counterfeit ink, he added, the scrapping of indelible ink was due to concern that its imposition on voters would have violated their constitutional right to vote.

I WOULD SAY THAT, 1ST CLASS FACILITIES 3RD CLASS MENTATILY. LOOKED AT NEPAL AND INDIA FOR EXAMPLES.

OH GOD, PLEASE CORRECT CORRECT CORRECT THE MISTAKES DONE BY OUR MALAYSIAN !!!

Live Bullent Send To Karpal Singh

DAP Leader and member of Parliament Karpal Singh received a live bullet in an envelope at his law firm in Kuala Lumpur this afternoon.

The live bullet was accompanied with a note warning to him against speaking out on the controversial issues of Malay Rights and the constitutional powers of the sultans.

The wheelchair-bound politician lodged a police report over the death threat at 5pm at Dang Wangi Police Station.

Met at the police station later this evening, Karpal told reporters that the envelope was hand-delivered to his receptionist at 12:30pm.

"The man was wearing a helmet and he had his visors drawn down, he left hurriedly,"he said, adding the police have confrimed that bullet was a 9mm "live bullet"

When quizzed by his reporters, Karpal said he had no clue who was the culprits were and would not rule out that the incident could be politically motivated.

"It's difficult for me to say, but based on the wordings of the note, it appears to have political motives, "he said.

Dr.Mahathir Quits The Party He Ruled For 22 Years.

The "MAN" that established Umno Baru in 1988 quits the party to put more pressure on Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to step down "as soon as possible" from his leadership post in Umno, Barisan National and Government.

Mahathir's resignation is consistent with this strategy. He is asking top Umno leaders to follow his lead and to resign from Umno. At the same time, he is prompting the rank and file to do so as well.

Although a masterful politician, Mahathir seems to be somewhat blinded by his single-mindedness in wanting to get rid of Abdullah. The proverbial last straw that broke the camel's back was the Royal Commission of Inquiry report on V.K Lingam case, which names Mahathir as one of the people who should be investigated.

After the report came out, he obviously decided it was time to go for broke. This is not the 1st time in his career he's done this. He risked it all in his battles against the royalty, against the judiciary and against Anwar Ibrahim. But this time, the stakes are higher than even before. If he succeeds, it could spell not only the end of Abdullah, but also Umno Baru - the party the founded - as well as Barisan Nasional, which is facing it's biggest challenge in its history.

One political Analyst at the scene said that he now believes that Mahathir will be backing Razaleigh in the latter's bid for the top post.

IRONICALLY, IT WAS MAHATHIR WHO INTRODUCED THE NOMINATION QUOTA SYSTEM TO WARD OFF FURTHER CHALLENGES FROM RAZALEIGH AFTER HE NARROWLY SQUEEZED THROUGH IN THE 1987 UMNO ELECTION.

WE LIVE IN THIS SERIOUSLY FUNNY WORLD !!!

Bloggers Launch "Penangites For Trams" Campaign

Today, Several Penang based bloggers and websites simultaneously launched a "Penangites For Trams" campaign.

We hope more and more bloggers and webmasters - especially all those care for Penang - will join in the campaign by placing these graphics on their blogs or website. You may link the graphic to the URL for this post or choose to link to any other article or post extolling the benefits of trams.

This will help to raise awareness of the viability and economic benefits of trams. Of course, trams work best as part of an integrated public transport system, complementing an efficient and extensive network of buses.

Fittingly, the lastest issue of business weekly THE EDGE carries a full-page article in support of the re-introduction of trams in Penang.

Join in the campaign and pass the word around.

In case you are wondering what advantages trams bring, here's a list from the CITY OF ENDINBURGH COUNCIL WEBSITE.

BENEFITS OF TRAMS

The number of residents, visitors and businesses are expanding, especially in key areas such as
the Waterfront and west Edinburgh.

While growth is good for our economy, it also means our
roads will get busier and longer journeys longer without a new transport choice. Trams can carry large numbers of people quickly and efficiently.

Trams don't take up alot of road space but they do carry alot of people. As Endinburgh continues to grow, trams will be the most efficient way for people to travel about our city.

  1. Trams show a city is modern and well-connected place to do business which can lead to more investment, new jobs, regeneration and more prosperity for all of us.
  2. Trams are an attractive option for motorists, with car users likely to be attracted to tram travel. Research shows 20% peak hour and 50% weekend tram passengers in the UK previously travelled by car.
  3. Trams enhance the urban environment and generate civic pride.
  4. Trams will encourage shoppers to travel to the city centre which can lead to more investment by businesses and regeneration. Dublin saw a rise between 20%-50% in pedestrian footfall figures on Grafton Street, the city's main shopping thoroughfare. Some retailers reported 25% increase in trade.
  5. Residential and commercial properties may see prices increase beside tram routes. In some cities with trams, house prices risen by up to 15% and rental prices by up to 7%.
  6. As trams run on electricity, there will be no emissions from vehicles themselves.
  7. Trams will be accessible to everyone, with benefits of low level boardings at every stop and other easy to use features which particulary help the disabled and less mobile.
  8. Trams will be safe to use as, in addition to a driver, every tram will have a passenger attendant on board to check tickets, answer passenger queries and ensure no anti-social behaviour occurs.
  9. Trams will offer concessionary fares.

Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng must do something big such as the tram project or any projects to make the traffic flow goes smooth in Penang or else this will be a failure to Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng.........We are Waiting For Your Response.

Gov't slammed for passport cancellation

P Waythamoorthy, who has been living in self-imposed exile after organising the mammoth Hindraf rally last November, denounced the government for allegedy revoking his passport.

The Hindu Rights Action Force Chairman, who has been in london since he fled the country last December, said he sought asylum in britain after learning that Kuala Lumpur had cancelled his passport.

"Technically, im now without a state and am asking Britain for asylum,"the chairman of rights group Hindraf told AFP in a phone interview.

"This is a very COWARDLY act by the malaysian government aganist me in order to undermine me, but it really undermines their credibility locally and internationally."

Waythamoorthy said immigration officers at Gatwick airport told him that Kuala Lumpur had revoked his passport when he last entered Britain.

"The revocation of my passport is a last desperate attempt by the government in crippling my international lobby for the cause of Malaysian Indians and this unwarranted act has given me more strength to continue the fight,"he said from london.

IMMIGRATION: HE SHOULD COME BACK.

Malaysian immigration officialstold AFP they were unaware of the passport cancellation and said Wayhamoorthy should return home to check the status of his travel document.(AH AH AH,CORRECT CORRECT CORRECT)

but Wayhamoorthy said Kuala Lumpur intended to force britain to deport him so he could be arrested under Malaysia's Internal Security Act (ISA), which allows for indefinite wihout trial.

Wayhamoorthy, along his brother P Uthayakumar and four other Hindraf leaders, angered the Government in November by mounting a mass-rally alleging discrimination against minority ethnic Indians.

Wayhamoorthy fled Malaysia in December to lobby the international community for support, while the other five were detained under the ISA.

The Federal Court on wednesday refused to release the five.

Amnesty International's Asia-Pacific advocacy director T Kumar called on Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to give a "full explanation on the rationale for the cancellation"

This is the first time i have heard of a political activist's passport being revoked by his own country's government,"he said.

1st of all the mongolian beauty girl's immigration status can be "hilang" from the record and this immigration officer that said they were unaware of the passport cancellation ----> SINCE WHEN THEY ARE WARE OF THIS TYPE OF THINGS ??

Madness ?

THIS IS F@RKING MADNESS.

EC Chief : Cabinet disapproved of INDELIBLE INK.

Election Commission chairperson Rashid Abdul Rahman said the cabinet did not approve the use of indelible ink during the March 8 general election.

"I was told that i was to take the responsibility for agreeing to it. It's not easy being EC chairperson. I took the whole rap over the year, "Rashid told reporters after a function today.

Rashid's comments further fueled speculations that the decision to scrap the use of indelible ink was a executive decision in light of whimsy excuses for the last minute U-turn in using the ink.

Last Year, the EC had agreed to use the ink in the 12th General Election to put to rest the claims of multiple voting. The plan was cancelled five days before the March 8 polling day.

A princely sum of RM2.4 millon for about 48,000 bottles of the ink was bought from india, but Rashid had to call off the move on claims, that were never substantiated, that elements of sabotage had been detected by police.

THIS IS WHAT I CALLED BULLSHIT !!! The Government passed the bill of 65 years old to 66 years old so that you can take responsibility for the election but you said now it's not easy being a EC chairperson. RESIGN LAAA !!! TUNGGU APA LAGI !!!

RM2.4 MILLION PAID FOR THE INK !!! Gone down to the drain for it !!! It's the Rakyat's money and the Rakyat's suffer !!!

Where are the sabotage had been detected by the police ?? NONE AT ALL !!!
You should resign and go holiday laa Mr.Rashid !!

THIS IS WHAT I CALLED MADNESS !!!

Raja Petra Kamaruddin ---Supporters Are Coming To See YOU !!!

There will be a Vigil Tonight (May 7,2008) at 9:00pm at the main entrance of Sungai Buloh Prison. It will be a peaceful show of solidarity for RAJA PETRA. You are welcome to join (Din Merican)

http://dinmerican.wordpress.com/2008/05//07/raja-petra-video/

LET'S GO FOR IT MY FELLOW MALAYSIAN !!!
LET'S SHOW THE WHOLE NATION THAT WE HAVE EVERY RIGHTS FOR OUR VOTE AND FOR NEXT COMING ELECTION WE WILL KNOW WHO'S OFF NEXT,AS ONE OF MY PICTURE SAYS "EVEN THE MIGHTY ONE WILL FALL"

RPK refusing to meet anyone BUT gets a pair of spectacles from Wife.

Malaysia Today webmaster Raja Petra Kamaruddin - presently in jail for refusing to pay his bail - has refused to have any contact with anyone including his own wife, Marina Abdullah.

Marina when contacted this morning said he had gone to the sungai buloh prison to meet Raja Petra and to ask him if he would want to post bail today.

"The officer at the registration counter (of the prison) have informed me that my husband has refused to see anyone including me,"she told Malaysiakini.

Marina added she was informed by the police that Raja Petra is apparently on hunger strike.
"The police told me that he refused to eat".lamented Marina.

She said that she has demanded to see the deputy warden of the remand centre to get further information and still waiting for the meeting.

Raja Petra was charged yesterday at the Petaling Jaya Sessions court over an article which he wrote in his website.

The article allegedly implied that Deputy Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and his wife of being involved in the killing of a young Mongolian Beauty woman.

Raja Petra claimed trial to the charge. He was charged under Section 4(1)(c) of the sedition Act for publishing seditious article on April 25th on Malaysia Today.

Hearing has been fixed from Oct 6 to Oct 10 and Raja Petra was granted a bail of RM5,000, which he refused to post, deciding instead to remain in custody until hearing date FIVE MONTH FROM TODAY. I SMELL SOMETHING FISHY ABOUT THE WHOLE THING !!!

Lesson Of The Day :- You Can Tame A Lion But You Can't Tame Raja Petra Kamaruddin !!! IM BEHIND YOU RPK !!!

Dr M: PM stopped Najib from seeing me.

Dr.Mahathir Mohamad made a startling claim that today that his "successor" Abdulah Ahmad Badawi recently thwarted a meeting between the ex-premier and deputy premier Najib Abdul Razak.

"This is no longer a democratic Umno. I would like to say here - i don't know how im going to hurt people - i wanted to see Najib. He said he would come and see me, "he said after a press conference in Putrajaya.

"He said he would first have to get the permission of the prime minister. Apparently he did not get permission. So until now, he has not seen me.

"It would be terrible to think that the prime minister does not trust his deputy. In my time, i trusted my deputy until he did something funny. Otherwise, i trust my deputy, "said the former premier of Malaysia for 22 years.

Mahathir said that he had tried to set up the meeting with Najib "immediately after the general election" to discuss the changing political situation.

"Im concerned about what is happening in Umno. I have to say this because I kept this to myself because i thought it was not right to reveal it to the public.

"But things are getting very serious now. People are not allowed to talk. I understand when Tengku Razaleigh (Hamzah) goes around to meet people at the branch level, Umno members were told not to attend.

"What kind of party is this? You are only allowed to hear from one source. I think this is the cause of the losses of the last election. People were not allowed to speak and the leadership does not know what the people are thinking,"he said.

1st of all Dr.M ,during yourr time how many deputy u trusted and sacked them off ?? If Pak lah doesn't control his Deputy now, don't u think he have to sack his deputy for doing something funny ?? u ruled the country for 22 years and now u're telling us the whole nation that this is not a democratic Umno.

You ruled the country for 22 years and all u did to umno was to changed them to contract seekers not into a powerfull political party. What's you're telling to the public is hitting you right in your face. I watched the BBC Hardtalk on Dr.M , im still laughing at his answers and the way he was putting blame on others. Dr.M 2 Words for you, GROW UP !!!
